Abstract

This paper presents the behavior of shape and radius of barrel after cold upsetting for bi-material Al7075 fitted with S15C by using DEFORM 3D simulation. The simulation billet composes of two parts; shell and core. The S15C is used for outer shell whereas the core is made of Al 7075. The study simulation found that the stress contribution, maximum load and deformed dimension are 0.182, 0.405 and 0.69 respectively. The barrel radiuses of the outer shell and the inner cores were calculated. They are found that all radiuses are relatively. The confirmation experiment test showed some different point shapes for inner core caused by friction coefficient effect. The details are illustrated.
