Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) is transforming how organizations and industries communicate and conduct their everyday operations. Its application has proven to be ideal for industries that manage large amounts of assets and coordinate complex and dispersed operations. An expert system must be able to defend and explain a judgment to a user in AI. Experts in information security must be able to explain why a system is secure to the general public. Artificial intelligence is also expected to play an important role in ensuring long-term public safety and security for growth. The different emerging sectors of IoT and traditional towns have been transformed into high-tech smart cities due to AI. The emergence of smart cities has just one goal: to raise people’s living standards by incorporating technology into their daily lives. This chapter discusses a number of significant technologies as well as solutions to problems that citizens face as a result of a lack of digitalization. It addresses concerns such as public infrastructure, public safety, and security and provides ideal solutions. It focuses not only on AI but also on IoT, 112machine learning, deep learning, pattern reorganization, and big data analytics for the development of a smart city that is completely functional. The analysis identifies the major barriers to widespread adoption and proposes a research path to address each of them in a cost-effective manner. IoT for defense and public safety.
