Abstract
A multi-stage Mn dissolution–conversion charge storage mechanism in aqueous Zn/α-MnO 2 batteries was revealed via operando synchrotron X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) as well as ex situ Raman spectroscopy.
