Abstract
Abstract Although blue laser‐excited phosphor‐in‐glass films (PiGFs) have been extensively investigated for laser‐driven display applications, their performance is still constrained due to a broad red emitting spectrum and thermal management challenges, etc. To overcome these limitations, this study develops a novel composite architecture – YAG: Ce transparent ceramic‐CsPbBr 1.5 I 1.5 quantum dots (CPBI QDs) in glass film enhanced with h‐BN (YAG: Ce TC‐QiGF BN). YAG: Ce TC acts as a high thermal conductivity substrate and yellow light component, while QiGF enables to produce narrowband red emission. The h‐BN particles are dispersed within QiGF, where a significant portion of them accumulate around the CPBI QDs powders. The inclusion of h‐BN significantly improves both light extraction efficiency and thermal conductivity, leading to an increase of blue‐light absorption efficiency from 57.74% to 69.26% and mitigation of heat accumulation induced by high‐power laser irradiation. Among the three designed prototype projection display systems (YAG: Ce TC, YAG: Ce TC‐ CASN: Eu PiGF, and YAG: Ce TC‐QiGF BN), the YAG: Ce TC‐QiGF BN‐based configuration demonstrates the most effective red‐light enhancement and superior color rendering performance, particularly exhibiting the purest red color due to its narrowband emission feature. This innovative material holds considerable potential for the next‐generation laser‐driven displays.
