Abstract

This study provides phenotypic and genetic information on a previously unknown vampyrellid, emphasizes the impact of contaminating vampyrellids in commercial microalgal cultures, and will contribute to the development of management strategies for predicting this kind of contaminant in large-scale microalgal cultivation.
