Abstract
The paper presents the methodology for assessment of engineering students outcomes. The research was focused on the evaluating for the purpose of development and improvement of engineering students’ competence achievements during their professional training. The assessment procedure was based on the comparison of the real students learning outcomes with the etalon ones. An assessment process, which included four stages, was designed. All the stages were divided into phases. That enabled to define a real level of engineering students competence. The proposed assessment method was based on the idea to differentiate the professional activities. That provided educators with the scientific basis for the purposeful development of diagnostic tools, performance of technological diagnostic procedures and obtaining objective, reliable results which show the engineering students learning outcomes.
