Abstract

The intermediate compositions in Ge-based pyroxene solid-solutions, (Mg 1- y Li y )(Mg 1- y Sc y )Ge 2 O 6 :4%Cr 3+ ( y = 0–1), are better phosphor hosts for Cr 3+ , possessing higher internal quantum efficiency and thermal luminescence stability.
