Abstract
We appreciate the comments from Penckofer and Siegler.1 The differential outcome of our study vs the cited stroke oxygen study is due to the fact that ours is normobaric hyperoxia (NBO) and endovascular treatment (EVT), whereas the study by Roffe et al.1,2 is NBO only. Without EVT, NBO benefits will only be temporary. We agree that certain specific subgroups may benefit more than others from NBO + EVT intervention and that stroke severity and timing of treatment could influence the efficacy of oxygen therapy. Owing to the small sample size, our study did not conduct subgroup analyses.
