A lead-free layered Dion–Jacobson hybrid double perovskite constructed by an aromatic diammonium cation

Abstract
A two-dimensional Dion–Jacobson type lead-free hybrid double perovskite [(3AMPY)<sub>2</sub>AgBiI<sub>8</sub>·H<sub>2</sub>O] (3AMPY = 3-(aminomethyl) pyridinium) constructed by an aromatic diammonium cation exhibits an attractive narrow band gap (<italic>E</italic><sub>g</sub> = 1.86 eV).
