Abstract

The Ingenuity Mars Helicopter completed a highly successful demonstration of powered flight and scouting on the surface of Mars. F Prime, JPL&#x0027;s open-source flight software framework, contributed to that success. This <sup>1</sup><sup>1</sup>Copyright 2021 California Institute of Technology. Government sponsorship acknowledged.paper will detail the architecture of the flight software and the application of this framework to the Mars Helicopter mission.<sup>2</sup><sup>2</sup>The research was carried out at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, under a contract with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (80NM0018D0004).
