Abstract
A ccording to the world health organization (WHO), the original definition of adverse drug reaction (ADR) is "a response to a drug that is noxious and unintended and occurs at doses normally used in man for prophylaxis, diagnosis or therapy of disease, or for modification of physiological function". 1 ADRs pose a common clinical problem and a significant cause of morbidity and mortality. 2 Pharmacovigilance is defined as "the science and activities relating to the detection, assessment, understanding and prevention of adverse effects or any other drug-related problem".
