The Acquirements of Digitalization with RPA (Robotic Process Automation) Technology in the Vakif Participation Bank

Abstract
Significant number of sectors have digitized and changed thanks to rapidly developing technology nowadays. This technological advancement has also transformed the financial sector, especially banks. They have experienced a transition from types of traditional service to digital financial services. Digitalization includes not only the digital finance services to which the bank customers using but also automating the operational transactions in the bank. Robotic Process Automation (RPA), which is used for the automation of operational processes, is widely used in many sectors. Furthermore, it experiences tremendous acceleration in automation technology. In RPA, robots represent software tools that can interact with each other, and robots are broadly operated to automate properly defined, repetitive tasks in the Banking business. In this automation system, robots imitate the way bank staff perform operational transactions. In consequence, they reduce the workload of bank staff and bring significant benefits along with it. In this paper, RPA technology and its use in the banking business, RPA teams which are established within Vakıf Participation Bank, business processes automated using robots by these teams, and benefits provided to the bank as a result of all these transactions will be analysed.
