Abstract
The paper analyzes and compares different models of epidemic spread. There are parallels between the study of epidemiology and the behavior of the virus on a computer network. Among the considered models the classical model SIR was allocated. It takes all the main features of the spread of the virus and is easy to implement. As a result of applying the classic SIR model to a medium-sized network, a prediction was obtained about the long-term behavior of the infection and the speed of its spread in the computer network.
