Abstract
Electrochemical production of H 2 O 2 via 2 electron (2e – ) oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) represents a promising route due to its safe, efficient, and decentralized process. Herein, using the extended surface of Pd with Cu electrodeposition as the model material, we identify that the introduction of Cu can promote the production of H 2 O 2 . With spectroscopic tools, we found that Cu stabilizes Pd–O and Pd–O improves 2e – ORR activity of Pd site according to computation. As a demonstration of a practical electrocatalyst, PdCu nanowire is synthesized and shows nearly 100% selectivity and 1.866 mol g –1 cat h –1 production rate toward H 2 O 2 .
