Energetic and dynamic principles of potassium electrodeposition in potassium metal batteries

Abstract
Potassium metal batteries promise sustainable energy storage, but dendrite formation limits their stability. This review establishes a theoretical framework for potassium nucleation and growth, which guides the analysis of key energetic parameters. The theoretical framework-guided analysis highlights the roles of substrate design and SEI properties, as well as the proposed future research directions to guide rational interface engineering for stable potassium deposition.
