Abstract

A 100% atom economical construction of hydroxyalkylated N-heteroarenes through decatungstate-catalyzed tandem cyclization/self-hydrogenation of isocyanides and aldehydes under exogenous hydrogen reagent- and byproduct-free conditions was developed.
