Studying the cation dependence of CO<sub>2</sub> reduction intermediates at Cu by <i>in situ</i> VSFG spectroscopy

Abstract
The nature of the electrolyte cation has a significant impact on electrochemical reduction of CO 2 at catalyst|electrolyte interfaces. VSFG spectroscopy shows that the presence of Cs + correlates with CO (bridge) formation, indicating a role in C 2 product formation.
