Abstract

The Internet of Things has rapidly gained popularity in recent years, and one of the most exciting applications of this technology is in the development of smart homes. A smart home is a residence that uses IoT devices and technology to automate and control various aspects of the home, such as lighting, heating, and security. One of the key benefits of using IoT in a smart home is the ability to improve the efficiency and convenience of daily life. IoT-enabled devices can automatically adjust the temperature and lighting in a home based on the time of day and the presence of occupants, saving energy, and providing a more comfortable living environment. This study has developed a smart home application that notifies users' APIs of an object's status via messages. Every time, the light bulb is turned ON by using an application and a signal is sent from the Arduino software code to the Wi-Fi module, which turns ON the light bulb. Next, the status of the light bulb is sent to Java, where the written code helps to share the status with other users by using the WhatsApp or Telegram APIs.
