Highlight:Dengue causes significant morbidity in travellers.This editorial examines a recent study comparing severity of primary and secondary dengue in travellers, revealing key insights and limitations.Findings underscore low overall severe dengue risk but show that primary infections can be severe, emphasising the need for traveller education on dengue prevention.
