Abstract

This manuscript investigates the impact of interactive chatbot feedback and support on student-centered learning strategies among Vietnamese learners of English at HUIT. A mixed-methods approach, integrating quantitative and qualitative research techniques, provided a robust analysis of chatbots' effects on learning. The quantitative phase involved a structured questionnaire administered to 211 students, while the qualitative phase included in-depth interviews with 8 participants. Findings revealed that positive student perceptions of chatbots led to increased engagement and effective use, supporting personalized learning by adapting to individual needs and learning paces. Chatbots enhanced self-study abilities, knowledge acquisition, and overall learning satisfaction. The study concludes that chatbots have a significant positive impact on engagement, motivation, and performance, emphasizing the importance of cultural and contextual factors in their implementation. Future research should explore the long-term effects of chatbot use on language mastery and academic performance
