Abstract

A red phosphor, Ba<sub>3</sub>Sc<sub>2</sub>F<sub>12</sub>:Mn<sup>4+</sup>, with extraordinary thermal stability and for application in “warm” white LEDs for backlighting, was obtained at room temperature and its luminescence intensity has been improved by optimizing its synthetic parameters.
