Abstract

Linde-type A zeolite (LTA) was prepared from coal fly ash (CFA) and used as an adsorbent to remove acidic dye (Acid red 66, AR66) from its aqueous solution. The effectiveness of synthesized (LTA) in adsorbing (AR66) from an aqueous solution was studied using batch experiments. The equilibrium data were studied using the Langmuir and Freundlich models and it was found that the data fit better to Freundlich model. Kinetic adsorption studies were done in terms of intra-particle diffusion model, pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order models. The results showed that the data followed a pseudo-second-order model.
