A Novel Geometry-Based Stochastic Channel Model in Integrated Sensing and Communication Scenarios

Abstract

In the sixth-generation wireless communication, integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) stands out as a key emerging technology. This letter proposes a novel geometry-based stochastic multiple-input multiple-output channel model for ISAC scenarios. We differentiate between communication channel and sensing channel, and investigate impacts of effective scatterers distributions within these channels. We compare and analyze differences between sensing and communication channels based on the derived space-time-frequency correlation functions. Simulation results show that communication and sensing channels exhibit distinct characteristics, and scattering environments have significant impacts on ISAC channel characteristics.
