Abstract
Modification of band structure induced by Sc in a novel material Gd<sub>2.97</sub>Ce<sub>0.03</sub>Ga<sub>2.5</sub>Sc<sub>1</sub>Al<sub>1.5</sub>O<sub>12</sub> results in the enhancement of energy transfer to Ce<sup>3+</sup>.
