Highlights• There are differences in the experienced level of job satisfaction between AMS farmers and CMS farmers.• AMS farmers are more satisfied with their working day, work safety and working conditions.• These factors increase job satisfaction for all dairy farmers: Increased income, new cowshed, successor, continue farming.
