Abstract
In this activity article, team members of Daniel E. Resasco (professor at the School of Chemical, Biological, and Materials Engineering at the University of Oklahoma) and Yanhui Yang (professor at the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering at the Nanjing Tech University) discuss the promoting or inhibiting effects of water for a given catalytic reaction and corresponding water-mediated mechanisms by acting as solvent, co-adsorbate, or co-catalyst.
