Abstract

We investigate the high <a:math xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <a:msup> <a:mi>Q</a:mi> <a:mn>2</a:mn> </a:msup> </a:math> (photon virtuality) limit of single-inclusive hadron production in deep inelastic scattering at small <c:math xmlns:c="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <c:mi>x</c:mi> </c:math> , using the color glass condensate formalism at next-to-leading order. We focus on the <e:math xmlns:e="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <e:msubsup> <e:mi mathvariant="normal">Λ</e:mi> <e:mrow> <e:mi>QCD</e:mi> </e:mrow> <e:mn>2</e:mn> </e:msubsup> <e:mo>≪</e:mo> <e:msubsup> <e:mi mathvariant="bold">p</e:mi> <e:mi>h</e:mi> <e:mn>2</e:mn> </e:msubsup> <e:mo>≪</e:mo> <e:msup> <e:mi>Q</e:mi> <e:mn>2</e:mn> </e:msup> </e:math> kinematic regime, where <i:math xmlns:i="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <i:msub> <i:mi mathvariant="bold">p</i:mi> <i:mi>h</i:mi> </i:msub> </i:math> is the produced hadron transverse momentum, and extract the Sudakov double logarithms. We further argue that compatibility between the color glass condensate calculation and transverse momentum dependent distribution factorization at one-loop order can only be achieved if the small-x evolution is kinematically constrained.
