Abstract

Naturally sourced 2-picolinic acid was discovered as an off-the-shelf, non-toxic, and inexpensive HBD catalyst for the cycloaddition of CO 2 to both internal and terminal epoxides to prepare cyclic carbonates at low catalyst loadings.
