Abstract
Dual-stage K-ion insertion in vanadium oxide was reported. K-ions are first inserted into interlayers <italic>via</italic> pseudocapacitive intercalation and then inserted into the [VO<sub>6</sub>] bi-layer (intralayer) <italic>via</italic> diffusion-limited intercalation.
