Broadband Piston Mode Operation for First-order Antisymmetric Mode Resonators

Abstract
This paper investigates the operating principle, performance, and merits of broadband piston mode, which is achieved by etching windows between active region and busbars on antisymmetric mode resonators. Broadband piston mode can suppress transverse resonant modes while maintaining high quality factor over broadband range.
