Abstract

There is no storage rule for massive engineering data generated during the detection of Airport pavement, and the data management efficiency is low. Meanwhile, Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Geographic Information System (GIS) have already been well recognized for its efforts in improving the high-efficiency of AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry. Therefore, the GIS and BIM data integration method were used to study the digital management of actual Airport pavement quality in this paper. Firstly, aimed at the Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) and CityGML data, the author analyzed the differences between semantic information and geometric structure, provided a method to integrate IFC and CityGML. Base on this method, the BIM IFC model data with the GIS are integrated hierarchically as the framework. Then, the lightweight BIM models is established based on B/S architecture and Web Graphics Library (WebGL) technology. Specifically, according to geometric data and detection data, a 3D model of pavement was produced in Revit software. Then, the JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) format files were generated depending on the secondary development of Revit. Therefore, the geometric data and attribute data were associated with the JSON files. Next, JSON-to-OBJ transformation was constructed for encoding specific JSON attributes into the OBJ file to realize its lightweight reconstruction in the real-time web environment. As a result, a subsequent OBJ compilation in Three.js was advanced to create the BIM model browser. A web-based BIM and GIS management system of Airport pavement quality was finally constructed. The storage, retrieval and processing of information of Airport pavement quality is realized in unit based on this system. Besides, this research achieves to monitor the Airport pavement health condition, which could help the managers make decisions.
