Effect of silicate bacteria on quartz flotation separation
Qing Teng, Hongjun Wang
Abstract
Taking quartz as the research object, the effect of silicate bacteria pretreatment on quartz flotation was investigated. After pretreating quartz for 3 days by using silicate bacteria, taking dodecylamine as the collector, the maximum recovery ratio of quartz was 92.74%. The quartz was transformed from insoluble crystalline form to soluble amorphous form; the metabolites of microorganism, organic acids, and polysaccharides, had a dissolving effect on quartz; With the increase of the surface dissolution area of quartz, the binding sites of quartz and dodecylamine increased, thereby improving the collection effect of dodecylamine.
