Abstract
Comparative modelling of the crystal-field parameters (CFPs), CF energy levels, and effective spin-Hamiltonian parameters of the ground state 4 A 2g of the Cr 3+ dopant ions in Y 2 Ti 2 O 7 and Y 2 Sn 2 O 7 is carried out.
