Transition metal-mediated B(4)–H hydroxylation/halogenation of <i>o</i>-carboranes bearing a 2-pyridylsulfenyl ligand

Abstract
Regioselective rhodium-induced B(4)–H hydroxylation and halogenation reactions of <italic>o</italic>-carboranes are reported. The key intermediate has been isolated. Iridium-induced B(3)/B(4)–H activation of <italic>o</italic>-carboranes has been achieved through steric control.
