Abstract
state. Our work shows that rubrene films with low degree of crystallinity could display efficient singlet fission, notably in the case of excitation to upper lying electronic states. This can strongly expand the applications of rubrene in organic electronics. Moreover, our results will provide a new direction for synthesizing novel materials with optimized excited state properties for organic photovoltaic applications.
