Abstract

The progression of cutting-edge materials for effectively safeguarding against electromagnetic radiation has emerged as an urgent priority within the scientific community. This study evaluates the present research status of EMI shielding materials based on polymer nanocomposites. The review encompasses an exploration of the principles behind EMI shielding, followed by a concise narration of the most widely utilized synthesis techniques and materials for nanocomposites designed for EMI shielding. Special attention is given in unraveling the correlation between the nanomaterials of these composites, the type of fillers employed, and their electromagnetic interference shielding efficiency (EMI SE). In addition methods, techniques and the mechanism of shielding are also reviewed. A detailed discourse on the gaps in various fields where EMI shielding materials hold potential applications is presented, and prospective avenues for research are suggested to overcome the current technological challenges.
