Integrating One Health into Systems Science
Pamela A. Burger
Abstract
• One Health and Systems Science are transdisciplinary approaches that deal with the complexity of natural, social and other systems. • Systems Science incorporates the identification of components within a system (Systems Thinking), the understanding of structure and connectivity between components (Systems Dynamics), and finding solutions for a sustainable change (Systems Design) • Integrating the complex concept of ecosystem, human and animal health (One Health) into Systems Science opens new ways for a transformation in One Health strategies and outcomes.
