Abstract
A new tin(<sc>ii</sc>)oxybromide, Sn<sub>14</sub>O<sub>11</sub>Br<sub>6</sub> (TOB), with two-dimensional [Sn<sub>14</sub>O<sub>11</sub>Br<sub>6</sub>] layers and large birefringence.
