Abstract

A bstract The parton-level top quark (t) forward-backward asymmetry and the anomalous chromoelectric $$ \left({\hat{d}}_{\mathrm{t}}\right) $$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:mfenced> <mml:msub> <mml:mover> <mml:mi>d</mml:mi> <mml:mo>̂</mml:mo> </mml:mover> <mml:mi>t</mml:mi> </mml:msub> </mml:mfenced> </mml:math> and chromomagnetic $$ \left({\hat{\mu}}_{\mathrm{t}}\right) $$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:mfenced> <mml:msub> <mml:mover> <mml:mi>μ</mml:mi> <mml:mo>̂</mml:mo> </mml:mover> <mml:mi>t</mml:mi> </mml:msub> </mml:mfenced> </mml:math> moments have been measured using LHC pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, collected in the CMS detector in a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb − 1 . The linearized variable $$ {A}_{\mathrm{FB}}^{(1)} $$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msubsup> <mml:mi>A</mml:mi> <mml:mi>FB</mml:mi> <mml:mfenced> <mml:mn>1</mml:mn> </mml:mfenced> </mml:msubsup> </mml:math> is used to approximate the asymmetry. Candidate $$ \mathrm{t}\overline{\mathrm{t}} $$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:mi>t</mml:mi> <mml:mover> <mml:mi>t</mml:mi> <mml:mo>¯</mml:mo> </mml:mover> </mml:math> events decaying to a muon or electron and jets in final states with low and high Lorentz boosts are selected and reconstructed using a fit of the kinematic distributions of the decay products to those expected for $$ \mathrm{t}\overline{\mathrm{t}} $$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:mi>t</mml:mi> <mml:mover> <mml:mi>t</mml:mi> <mml:mo>¯</mml:mo> </mml:mover> </mml:math> final states.
