Abstract

Anti-misalignment and light-weight design are two important issues faced by unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) wireless charging systems. In order to meet these two requirements, a matts-shaped transmitter which can generate a rotating magnetic field is proposed to improve the angular misalignment capability and a multi-winding combined receiver, which weighs only 105 g, is presented to improve the lateral and longitudinal misalignment tolerance, respectively. Furthermore, a multi-pickup channel superposition circuit is designed and modelized. Finally, an experimental prototype is built to verify the proposal. The system delivers an output power of 300.6 W with a DC-DC efficiency of 88.9%. Besides, it especially achieves stable output in the range of angular misalignment of [0°, 360°] and axial misalignment of [-50 mm, 50 mm].
