Abstract

Abstract The recovery of iron(III) and zinc(II) ions using an aqueous two-phase system based on polypropylene glycol 425 and sodium chloride with the addition of the Aliquat 336 complexing agent has been studied for the first time. It has been shown that this extractant effectively recovers the metals under study from hydrochloric acid solutions. A degree of extraction higher than 95% in one stage can be achieved by varying the parameters of the extraction process.
