Abstract

High-frequency four-dimensional ultrasound can be used in conjunction with standardized analysis procedures to simultaneously extract left-ventricular global function, morphometry, and regional strain metrics. Furthermore, a novel hybrid strain index (HSI) formula demonstrates greater performance compared with all other metrics in characterizing disease progression in a model of metabolic cardiomyopathy.
