Abstract
Besides improving the development process, the software quality analysis is beneficial in the decision-making process regarding the tools used in the development process and the trade-off between cost and quality. Moreover, the elimination of human error improves the reliability of the software engineering process. This study highlights the significance of evaluating the DevOps tools in an organized way in a software engineering environment to improve the quality, manage risks, and aid in cost-effective decisionmaking processes. In line with the need to consider various factors in evaluating alternatives, this study uses the VIKOR approach to evaluate the DevOps tools, which calculates the values of Sj, Rj, and Qj to identify compromise solutions among alternatives. From the Qj values, it is evident that Jenkins and CircleCI have performed exceptionally well, while GitLab, Bamboo, and Azure have shown relatively low performance.By applying various structured approaches for multiple criteria evaluation, the VIGOR method is able to effectively identify optimal DevOps tools, facilitate a wellbalanced decision-making process, and improve software quality.
