Abstract
Floating offshore wind turbines (FOWTs) have garnered significant attention recently as a pivotal technology for harnessing offshore wind power, particularly in deep and remote seas. This paper reviews the main structural configurations and their defining characteristics of FOWTs. It analyzes in detail the current development status of FOWTs globally and domestically, noting that the technology is currently in the early stages of commercialization and large-scale demonstration. The paper focuses on the research status and challenges of in-situ installation technology for FOWTs, comparing different installation techniques and evaluating their pros and cons. Furthermore, it looks ahead to the development trends of in-situ installation technology for FOWTs, indicating that ongoing technological progress and cost reduction efforts are expected to enable this technology to play a crucial role in commercialized and large-scale floating wind power projects. Finally, the paper highlights China's policy support and market prospects in the field of floating wind power, as well as the key paths for future technological breakthroughs and cost reductions.
