Abstract

Transition metals are well known for their catalytic behaviours for the activation of the Carbon-Carbon (C-C) bond. Many chemists have created various important developments in this field during the last decades. In the present review, only a few instances of catalytic activation of the C-C bond using the transition metal catalyst and their mechanism have been disclosed, which is useful information for creating new ways to break these bonds. This review includes the recent advances in the activation of cyclic, saturated and unsaturated carbon–carbon bonds utilizing transition metals as a catalyst in a number of different systems.
