Abstract

The effect of use the copper oxide complexes of different structure (CC-I, CC-III) as the precursors for Cu/ZSM-5 catalysts prepared by ion-exchange on catalytic properties in nitrous oxide decomposition has been tested. It was found that the highest activity was observed over Cu/ZSM-5 catalysts obtained by the using of CC-III. A remarkable feature of Cu/ZSM-5, prepared with CC-III, is the presence of copper complex which may generate a very active α-oxygen upon interaction with nitrous oxide. This catalyst displays high and stable activity for the decomposition of N2O to N2 and O2 and appears as a promising catalyst.
