Abstract
New spacecraft often employ thermal regulation systems based on a two-phase boiling fluid. Capillary or mechanical pumps propel the fluid in two-phase loops. Mechanical pumps are used at high power. At lower power (a few kW), capillary pumps in the form of heat pipes are employed. The thermal model of a heat pipe with a hydraulic store is derived.
