Abstract
This research looks into how to create and improve the properties of a woven Ensete woven fabric-reinforced composite that is solidifying with unsaturated polyester resin.Indeed, both of the materials are compatible with each other due to their functional group approach. Ensete(Ensete ventricosum) is a natural organic fiber plant that is native to many African countries. The fibers possess excellent tensile strength properties, which can be compared with those of nylon or glass. The composite is constructed using the hand lay-up approach. Independent factors that affect the composite material's durability are taken into account in this study. The optimal raw material ratio in this investigation was found by using a central composite design. The result shows that a blend of 45 % fiber and 55 % resin has a maximum water absorption of 4.22 %, and a blend of 15 % fiber and 85 % resin shows a lower water absorption percentage. A maxium composite density of 1.105 g/cm 3 is seen for 15 % fiber and 85 % resin. Lower composite density is observed for 40–30 % fiber content and 60–70 % resin content. A maximum tensile strength of 32.630 Mpa(Mega Pascal) is reported for 25 % fiber and 75 % resin content. A bending strength of 27.721 MPa is reported for 45 % fiber and 55 % resin content. A compressive strength of 31.00 Mpa is obtained for 15 % fiber content and 85 % resin. The output of this research work also addresses the problem of developing sustainable, completely or partially recyclable, fully biodegradable materials that possess good mechanical properties, low density, and non-toxic composite properties at a low cost. Because of its superior physio-mechanical qualities over the current wood-based fake ceiling board composite material, Ensete woven fabric reinforced composite can therefore be utilized as a false ceiling board. • Design and Development of Ensete woven fabric green composite. • Fabrication Ensete woven fabric green composite using hand-lay up method and unsaturated polyester resin. • Physi0-mechanical properties and Analysis of Ensete woven fabric green composite. • Optimization of Physio-mechanical properties of Ensete woven fabric green composite. • Applications and Technical aspects of Ensete woven fabric green composite.
