Abstract

This chapter provides an overview of the needs and opportunities for high-throughput experimentation (HTE) in the emerging field of synthetic organic electrochemistry. Desirable features for an HTE electrochemical reactor are outlined in the context of key experimental parameters of electrosynthetic reactions. Furthermore, the chapter details the existing state-of-the-art HTE equipment for electrochemical reactions and highlights applications of the recently commercialized HTe –Chem reactor for both reaction optimization and parallel synthesis. The chapter concludes with an outlook of the additional features yet to be incorporated into existing HTE tools for electrosynthetic applications, providing a perspective of the challenges and opportunities in the field.
