Abstract

Increasing generation by renewable energy sources leads to problems with maintaining the balance of generation and load. This article dedicated to demand management, namely using the concept of prosumers for that. Prosumers, as participants in processes in Power Grid, can function in modern traditional electric systems as well, provided they receive additional opportunities to carry out market operations. We looked at the potential of using prosumers to introduce a demand response program. Also, for linearizing load graphs and maintaining the balance of active power in the Power Grid. The paper analyzes various approaches to modeling load profiles. The basis of the method is the averaging of randomly generated load profiles for a given type of household as multistorey building on a certain day of the year. Averaging is carried out by the type of day of the week and the length of Daylight Hours. The calculation of the required size of the energy storage system (ESS)was also carried out. A model of the initial assessment of the implementation of ESS for typical multistorey buildings in the city of Kharkiv was created.
